Women's Soccer Hosts Longwood On Thursday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - After spending the weekend in Philadelphia at the Penn Invitational, the Richmond women's soccer team has returned home for its first-ever meeting with Longwood University. The Lancers and the Spiders are set to play on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium.
The Spiders (0-6-0) went 0-2 at the Penn Invitational, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Princeton Tigers on Friday night and then suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in the last 43 seconds of the second overtime to Penn on Sunday. Freshman Nora Mann scored her first collegiate goal in the Spiders' efforts vs. Penn.
The Lancers (3-2-1) are coming off a dominating 3-0 victory over The Citadel on Sunday. Longwood is led by Sarah Fening who has added two goals on the season for the Lancers.
