Women's Soccer Concludes Non-Conference Schedule At American

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Rounding out its non-conference portion of the season, the Richmond women's soccer team travels to Washington, D.C. on Friday to face the American Eagles on Reeves Field at 4:00 p.m. The Spiders will be looking for their sixth-straight victory over the Eagles.
The Spiders (0-6-2) just ended its second straight game in a double overtime knot as it played Loyola College to a 1-1 tie in double overtime on Sunday (9/17) afternoon. Sophomore Julia Bizer scored the Spiders' only goal of the contest.
Freshman Kristen Stalter and Bizer currently lead the Spiders in scoring with two goals apiece on the season.
The Eagles (4-3-1) started the season with an impressive 4-0 mark, but have gone 0-3-1 in their last four contests and are coming off a 2-1 loss to George Washington on Tuesday night.
The Spiders own a 5-1 advantage in the Richmond-American series and have won the last five meetings, including a 2-1 victory over the Eagles in the Wachovia Challenge in 2002 and a 4-0 slaughter in 2000 at Richmond. Richmond currently holds a 2-1 advantage on American's home field.
Following Friday's contest, the Spiders will return home to kick-off Atlantic 10 action, hosting Saint Joseph's on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:00 p.m. and the Temple Owls on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium
