Richmond improved to 11-7 when playing as a ranked team under head coach Dave Clawson, including a 7-4 mark at home. Since 1993, Richmond is 32-23 when ranked.
The win marks the ninth time in Clawson's era that he has guided the Spiders to a win following a loss in the game prior.
Richmond is averaging 36.5 points/game this season and 442.2 yards/game in total offense.
Richmond improves to 15-0 under Clawson when scoring 30 points or more in a game.
Richmond is 23-for-23 producing points on drives of 80 yards or longer since 2005. The Spiders had one such drive today, an 81-yarder for their second TD of the game. Of those 23 drives, 21 have results in touchdowns.
Senior Tim Hightower surpassed the 100-yard mark on the ground for the fifth-straight game and ninth time in his career. He collected 101 yards on 19 carries with a touchdown. He also caught a TD pass.
Hightower broke the Spiders' single-season rushing TD record with his 14th through just six games this season.
Freshman Kevin Grayson caught his first collegiate TD pass.
Sophomore Eric Ward threw for a career-high three touchdowns - all in the third quarter. He was lifted for backup QB Will Healy for the entire fourth quarter, after the Spiders had gone up 35-0.
Junior Joe Stewart caught a career-high two TD passes.
Junior Will Healy threw his first career TD pass.
Sophomore Andrew Howard kept his school-record PAT streak in tack, converting all six today. Howard has made all 60 extra points in his career.
