Richmond Head Coach Chris Mooney
On The Game
"We've got to hold onto the lead. I thought we were making good plays and we made a couple of good plays to get the lead. A number of guys played well. We had balanced scoring, but in the end, we weren't able to put the game away. Unfortunately it's another heartbreaking loss."
On Why Richmond Has Struggled With A Lead
"A big part of it is our youth. We have a roster dominated by freshmen and sophomores. Our ball handling and passing hasn't been good down the stretch. It's something that needs to get better. It's hard to put a finger on it. We've done some things better and some things worse."
On What Needs To Be Done
"I think just practicing and playing and getting more experience. With so many young guys it's hard. With so many young guys it's hard, that's the nature of being so young. It's going to be up and down."
On The Postives
"I thought we got some good contributions from a number of different guys. We had six guys with nine or more points, so that's good balanced scoring. We out-rebounded them. I thought we played well in long stretches. There are plenty of positives, we have to focused on them, correct the negatives, and move on."
On How To Improve
"We just have to go back to work, watch some film. We've got to move and get more and more game experience."
Richmond's Jarhon Giddings
On What The Spiders Have To Do To Close Out Games
"We've just got to work harder, we've just go to work harder to make sure that never happens again."
On Richmond's Struggles To Finish Games
"We just kind of struggle for whatever reason. We freeze up toward the end of the game. We just need to relax and play basketball and everything will be fine."
On Richmond's Outside Shooting Struggles
"I think everybody struggles from time-to-time, it's a natural part of basketball. You're not going to hit all your shots every night. We can't let that get to us. We have to learn from it. If we're not hitting shots, we've got to buckle down defensively and get stops, and get rebounds. That all comes down to working harder."
On Whether The Spiders Will Bounce Back
"We definitely will bounce back. There's no quit in this team so we will definitely bounce back."
Richmond's Ryan Butler
On Richmond's Problems Playing With Leads
"I really don't know what it is. We're right there every single game, up five, last game up 11 late. We can't seem to close. We can't get a stop when we need to. It's something that we need to work on. It's frustrating losing games like this. If we make one play, we get one stop, they have to start fouling. Then we're in control rather than them being in control."
On What The Spiders Can Learn
"You can learn form everything, losses, wins, especially tough ones. You don't want to feel like this again, so you just come out tomorrow in practice and work hard, so you don't have to feel like this ever again."
