New Game-Day Experience Awaits Spider Hoop Fans
11/06/2007 | Men's Basketball
Nov. 6, 2007
Dear Spider Fans:
I know many of you are looking forward to our first home men's basketball game this Saturday night, November 10 at 7 o'clock. I wanted to take this opportunity to fill you in on a few new things that will be going on at the games this year to enhance your "game-day experience."
Quality half-time entertainment... Throughout the year, we will be featuring scheduled acts including the Canines in Flight Frisbee Dogs, Jonathan the Juggler, Zooperstars and more! Don't miss it!
Student Attendance - Although our percentage of students attending men's basketball games is good, we need more students at the game to create excitement. Our marketing staff is really focusing on student attendance this year.
One of the steps we took was creating The Preyground. Prior to most of the games played when the students are in session, The Preyground will be set up in the concourse behind the student section. The Preyground is a one hour pre-game fun zone for our students...free food, free soft drinks, games, give-aways, etc. Keep in mind that for us non-students, this means that prior to the game, the concourse behind the student section will not be open for us to use. The Preyground will be disassembled shortly after the game begins.
We expect our ushers and game attendants will have a new sense of hospitality and look of professionalism. Let me know if they don't welcome you at the door!
I look forward to seeing you in Robins Center this year. As always, I appreciate your suggestion and thoughts. Feel free to email me at jross23@richmond.edu
