UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Go to practice. Play games. Take road trips. Otherwise, enjoy college life as a big man on campus, supported by an athletic scholarship.
Today, we pull back the curtain and reveal what's involved with that "free ride" for a University of Richmond freshman basketball player. Says Kevin Smith, a 6-5 guard from Murfreesboro, Tenn.: "I don't think [people] even realize how much effort we put into just trying to be eligible and trying to be fit to be able to practice and play."
