RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team dropped its sixth-straight match of the season, falling 6-0 to the 14th-ranked VCU Rams (12-2) on Friday afternoon. VCU was the fourth of six Spider opponents ranked in the top tier of the nation. Sophomores Pamela Duran and Ashlee Vosters paired up at second doubles for the Spiders' only win of the match and the duo's fifth-straight win on the season.
"The good news is, we are almost invincible at number 2 doubles," stated Richmond head coach Mark Wesselink. "VCU is just a really strong team. I wish we could have left with a better outcome, but I thought we competed well. We are looking forward to our match with George Washington tomorrow."
The Spiders (0-6, 0-1 in A-10) return to the court tomorrow facing A-10 rival George Washington at 10:30 a.m.
