STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - The Richmond women's golf team finished 15th at the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate, held Monday and Tuesday at Eagle's Landing Country Club.
The Spiders shot a 319 in Tuesday's final round to finish the tournament with a 623. Richmond shot a 304 in Monday's opening round and were in 10th place.
"Yesterday's round was definitely an ego boast," Richmond head coach Leighann Albaugh said. "It was good, it showed what they can do. Today we dropped a bit, but I feel like we are starting to peak at the right time. We know what we need to work on and have a pretty good game plan to continue to strengthen our weaknesses."
Senior Ashley Lambert led the Spiders with a 10-over-par 154 (74-80), tying for 35th. Sophomore Rosario Germino and freshman Victoria Kidder tied for 44th with 12-over 156s. Germino shot a pair of 78s, while Kidder shot a 76 in the opening round and an 80 in the second round.
Freshman Anne Sprick shot a 159 (76-83) to tie for 64th and freshman Lauren Folgosa tied for 87th with a 171 (90-81).
The Spiders return to action on April 20 for the first round of the 54-hole CAA Championship, being held at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.
