
Folgosa Named To NGCA All-American Scholar Team

Richmond freshman Lauren Folgosa was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
The criteria for selection to the NGCA All-American Scholar Team is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of her team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.
Folgosa, a native of Fayetteville, Ga., played in nine of Richmond's 11 tournaments in her rookie season. She posted one top-15 finish, tying for 14th at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship and finished in the top 50 for six events. She had a scoring average of 82.78, which ranked fourth on the team.
"Lauren had a strong work ethic both in the classroom and on the golf course," Richmond head coach Leighann Albaugh said. "Her dedication is admirable and we look forward to continued success from her in the coming years."
Folgosa had the third-best finish for the Spiders at the CAA Championship, helping the team to a fourth-place finish. She shot her career-best round of 3-over-par 75 in the first round of the CAA Championship.
