CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Richmond women's golf team had another tough round at the season-opening Cougar Classic, shooting a 328 for the second-straight day to sit in 20th place heading into Tuesday's final round at Yeamans Hall.
"It's the first tournament of the year, but I'm extremely disappointed," Richmond coach Leighann Albaugh said. "My expectations were much higher for this group of individuals who have the ability to better than this. This in no way reflects their ability."
Richmond junior Rosario Germino is tied for 86th at 20-over-par 162 (82-80). Freshman Jillian Fraccola is tied for 89th at 22-over 164 (80-84) and sophomore Anne Sprick is tied for 92nd at 165 (81-84). Sophomore Victoria Kidder is tied for 99th at 168 (85-83) and sophomore Lauren Folgosa is tied for 101st at 170 (89-81).
"We've got one more round and hopefully we can prove it to ourselves that we can turn it around," Albaugh said. "Right now we're playing scared."
