CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Richmond women's golf team opens the 2007-08 season on Sunday and Monday at the Cougar Classic at Yeaman's Hall Golf Club.
The Spiders will have sophomore Lauren Folgosa, junior Rosario Germino, freshman Jillian Fraccola, sophomore Victoria Kidder and sophomore Anne Sprick.
Richmond is coming off finishing fourth at the CAA Championship last spring and returns all but one of the players from that squad. With the addition of three freshmen, including two that will be playing in the opening tournament, the Spiders will look to get the 2007-08 season on a good note against the toughest field they will face this year.
"This is definitely our favorite tournament of the year," Richmond head coach Leighann Albaugh said. "It is the toughest field we will face this year and this will be a good way to start the season. The girls had a good summer and have come back really tournament tested."
