The women's soccer squad will return home this weekend with a pair of match-ups against Charlotte and Saint Louis. Kick-off for the Charlotte game is slated for 5:30 p.m., while the Saint Louis game starts at noon on Sunday.
Richmond (9-4-1, 3-3) lost two hard-fought road games this past weekend. Senior Sarah Hilt scored the lone goal in the 3-1 loss to Duquesne, while senior Jessie Wolfe scored her sixth goal of the season in a 2-1 OT loss to St. Bonaventure.
Charlotte (9-3-1, 5-0) is coming off a 8-0 rout of Saint Joseph's, in which six different 49er's scored. The last time these two teams met, the Spiders lost 1-0 in the semifinal round of the Atlantic-10 tournament.
"This is a massive weekend for us," head coach Peter Albright said. "The Charlotte and Saint Louis teams have combined to win the last three A-10 Championships, and Charlotte is average five goals per game."
Saint Louis (6-3-4, 2-2) is coming off a 2-0 win over Temple. The last time Richmond faced Saint Louis, the Bilikens prevailed with a 2-0 victory.
"I am really glad to be back at First Market Stadium," said Albright. "We have gotten a couple of players back from the injured list, and we are looking forward to being at full strength as we face two great teams."
The 5:30 kickoff on Friday is part of a soccer doubleheader, as the men will follow against St. Joseph's at 8:00 p.m.
Live coverage, including game tracker and free video streaming on SpiderTV, will be available for the game.
