
Geriot's Career-High Leads Third-Place Spiders To Victory

OLEAN, N.Y. - Sophomore Dan Geriot scored 21 of his career-high 35 points in the first half and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the third-place Richmond men's basketball team to an 82-71 win over St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night.
The Spiders led by as many as 20 as they improved to 15-11 overall, the program's most victories in a season since the 2003-04 NCAA Tournament year. Richmond is 8-5 in the Atlantic 10, in a three-way tie for third place and just a half-game behind second-place Saint Joseph's.
Richmond won for the fifth time in the last seven games and improved to 11-5 in the last 16 games. The Spiders are 6-6 on the road this season and 4-3 on the road in conference play.
Geriot made 9-of-11 first-half field goals and finished the game 13-of-17 from the floor as he posted his second 30-point game of the season. This was Geriot's third double-double of his career, all coming this season. He made a career-high five three-pointers in five attempts, had two steals and two assists.
Geriot's 35 point effort was the third-highest scoring performance by an Atlantic 10 player this season and his 13 field goals made tied for the most by an A-10 player this season.
Freshman Kevin Anderson also scored a career high with 21 points and tied a career high with three three-pointers, while dishing out five assists.

Richmond returns to action on Saturday when the Spiders host Massachusetts. The Minutemen are 18-9 overall and 7-6 in the Atlantic 10. While UMass is still in the hunt for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament, the Minutemen are a game behind the Spiders in the Atlantic 10 standings.
