
Richmond Takes Third At A-10's

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Richmond women's tennis team beat No. 1 UMass, 4-0, to take home third place at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships. After taking the top crown the past four years, Temple ended the Spiders' title run in the semi-final match over the weekend.
The third-seed Spiders dominated UMass in the consolation match to earn third-place. Xenia Schneider and freshman Isabel Arana all earned wins in singles action to give Richmond three of its four match points.
In doubles play, Xenia Schneider also took down a Minutewomen duo in the no. 2 position to record Richmond's fourth point.
