| PHOTOS RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Jarhon Giddings and junior David Gonzalvez visited a Community Day held at the Shiloh Baptist Church in the Church Hill section of Richmond on Saturday.
The two men's basketball players signed autographs, shot baskets with the kids and mingled with those in attendance.
Gonzalvez and Giddings were given credit for their success last season, especially their win over Virginia Tech. A father and son who were Hokie fans told Gonzalvez and Giddings that they would root for the Spiders, except when the teams meet again on Jan. 14 in Blacksburg.
The community day included a Voter Registration booth sponsored by the Richmond Police Department among other booths and activities.
Interim police chief David M. McCoy was in attendance and told Giddings and Gonzalvez of his days working on the force with current Richmond football coach Mike London.
