University of Richmond, Va. -
The women's soccer squad will host the American Eagles 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night at First Market Stadium.
Richmond (4-1-1) is returning to action after 2-0 shutout victory at UMBC Friday. Juniors Nora Mann and Jessie Knight both netted goals for Richmond.
American (3-2-1) is coming off a 1-0 victory over Towson. Senior Krystn Hodge scored the lone goal for the Eagles.
"American is coming off a win against a tough Towson team and a historic tie with the University of Maryland," head coach Peter Albright said. "They are a tough opponent, and I'm glad to have them at home. They have two excellent center backs, and a Patriot League player of the year candidate in center forward Kelsey Brasher. We are hoping for a great crowd and a good performance against a strong team."
The Eagles defeated the visiting Spiders 3-0 last season. Richmond outshot American 15-12, but was unable to convert any shots to a goal.
After Tuesday's contest, Richmond continues its home action Friday night when Penn University comes to First Market Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
