Hampton Invitational Up Next For Spiders Indoor Track & Field Team

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The men's and women's indoor track & field teams will compete in the Hampton Invitational this weekend, hosted by Hampton University at the Boo Williams Sportsplex Friday and Saturday. The meet begins Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. Saturday's action commences at 8 a.m.
The Spiders are coming off last Saturday's Terrapin Invitational that saw the men's DMR capture the gold medal and Megan Ney post top-five finishes in each of the jumps events. The men's relay of Matt Llano, Matt Mello, Jeff Strojny and Sean Welsh were clocked in 10:28.32 - 19 seconds ahead of the second-place team to capture top honors.
Ney took home the bronze in the triple jump (11.41m) and was fourth in both the high jump (1.62m) and the long jump (5.52m).
Follow this weekend's action, the Spiders head to Chapel Hill for the Carolina Classic on January 31.
