Justin Harper Named Atlantic 10 Player Of The Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Sophomore Justin Harper was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 28 points and tying a career high with nine rebounds in Richmond's win over Rhode Island on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-10 Harper made a career-high 10 field goals in 15 attempts, connecting on 3-of-6 three-pointers and blocking two shots in a career-high 40 minutes of the 78-75 victory over the Rams.
The Richmond, Va. native has reached double-figures in four of the last five games and is averaging 16.2 points per game in the nine contests that he plays at least 25 minutes. He is averaging 10.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
"This is a great honor for Justin, who is really starting to come into his own for us," Richmond head coach Chris Mooney said. "Justin is a great player and an even better person. His potential is unlimited."
The former Meadowbrook High standout has started all 18 games this season. He has scored in double-figures 11 times in his career, including nine times this season.
The Spiders (10-8, 2-1 Atlantic 10) play at Saint Louis today at 3 p.m. EST.
