UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
Senior standout Jessie Wolfe was named to the VaSID All-State Second Team. Wolfe, a native of Germantown, Md., led the Spiders with seven goals and 63 shots. This is the third time Wolfe has earned All-State honors. Wolfe was named to the 2007 and 2005 All-State Second Team.
"Jessie is one of the best athletes and best players I have ever coached," said head coach Peter Albright. "This is yet another honor that is really nice, but these awards cannot possibly capture her talent or her standing among college soccer's best."
Wolfe, who was an Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team selection, ended her storied career with 19 goals, which put her fifth all-time in career goals. Wolfe launched 240 shots, which moved her to second all-time in career shots. Her seven goals on the year was a career-high.
"I am excited for Jessie as she tries to make her way in the new Women's Professional League," said Albright. "As good a career as Jessie had at UR, I believe her best soccer is still ahead of her."
