UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The Richmond women's soccer team hosts the Temple Owls Friday night at 7 p.m. at Ukrop Park. The Spiders continue their home slate with Saint Joseph's Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Richmond is coming off a 2-1 victory at La Salle last Sunday. Freshmen Shondel Archer and Natalie LeClair each tallied a goal in the win. Archer scored her team-leading sixth goal and has scored five times in the past seven games.
"Temple beat us last year," said head coach Peter Albright. "Simple as that. This is a big game for us. We need to win to keep on track for the A-10 Championships. We've worked hard this week to prepare for this game, and I expect a good result. There are only four home games left, so I hope that people can get out to see the Spiders this weekend."
Richmond dominates the series at 6-1 versus the Temple Owls. The Spiders dropped their first loss to Temple 1-0 last November.
The Spiders hold a 4-3 edge on the Saint Joseph's Hawks. After this weekend's two-game home slate, Richmond visits George Washington, Charlotte and Saint Louis.
