UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The women's tennis team (11-3) rolled past Xavier, 7-0 Friday afternoon in Richmond. The Spiders face East Carolina Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
Richmond put on a dominating performance in doubles play, with No. 1 Pamela Duran/Erin Clark def. Kelsey Kinnard/Tiffany Treece, 8-2 while No. 2 Ashlee Vosters/Kelly Tidwell def. Kara Courtney/Kaitlyn Zinn, 8-1. No. 3 Helen Cunningham/Isabel Arana completed the sweep, defeating Jill Ducro/Christie Pleiman 8-2.
Singles play was no different with a complete sweep for the Spiders at spots 1-6. The Spiders have won 5 of their last seven matches.
"I'm proud of our performance today," said head coach Mark Wesselink. "We will take this momentum into our match with East Carolina next week."
