
Women's Tennis Continues Dominance; Plays for Sixth A-10 Title Sunday

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -
The women's tennis team (16-5) shut out No. 5 seed Charlotte, 4-0 in the semifinal round of the Atlantic 10 Championship. Junior Erin Clark ended Charlotte's Yudeshnee Pillay's 17-match win streak in a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
The Spiders secured wins at two and three doubles, winning 8-5, 8-5 in both matches. No. 1 pair Pamela Duran/Ashlee Vosters did not finish.
In singles play, freshman Helen Cunningham defeated Andrea Rivera 6-2, 6-3, while freshman Joanna Matuszczyk defeated Candace Cunningham 6-4, 7-6 (5). ,br>
Richmond faces the winner of #2 Temple/#3 Xavier for the Atlantic 10 Championship tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. The Spiders hope to secure their fifth title in the last six seasons.
