Spiders Use Penn Relays As Final Tune-Up For A-10 Championship

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Heather Roush set a personal-best in the javelin and the men's distance medley relay recorded a season-best time as the Spiders wrapped up action at the Penn Relays Friday in Philadelphia, Pa.
Roush was fifth in the javelin with her toss of 42.15m that set a personal best. She also posted a mark of 45.02m in the discus, which was good for an 11th-place finish.
Monica Howard also compete in the discus, finishing fifth with her toss of 47.10m
The men's DMR shined with a 12th-place finish, recording a season-best time (both indoor and outdoor) of 10:03.79. Sean Welsh opened the relay with his 3:02 in the 1,200m leg. Matt Mello followed with a 49.7 in the 400m leg. Jeff Strojny was clocked in 1:54.5 for the 800m leg and Garrett Graham brought it home in 4:17.2 in the 1,600m leg.
Also for the men, Chris Kondorossy was 17th in the shot put (13.56m) and Pierre Turner was also 17th in the discus (47.44m).
The women's 4x100m relay of Jasmine Cottle, Megan Ney, Gisele Adanlete, Geneen Dore was 64th in 50.16.
The Spiders head to Charlotte next weekend for the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships.
