DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke Invitational came to a close Saturday evening in the Durham, N.C. and the Richmond women's 4x100 relay finished fourth to highlight the final day of competition.
The relay of Geneen Dore, Jasmine Cottle, Megan Ney and JoAnna Ubiwa was clocked in a time 48.43. Dore also took 13th in the 100m (12.66), while Cottle was 15th in the 200m (25.84).
Also on the track, Amy Van Alstine raced to an 11th-place finish in the 1,500m in a time of 4:34.30.
In the long jump, Megan Ney finished seventh (5.26m) and X'auntasia Johnson was 10th (5.07m).
Heather Roush posted three top-15 finishes in the throw events by placing seventh in the javelin (37.86m), 11th in the shot (11.66m) and 15th in the discus (38.27m).
Nellie Henigin was seventh in the shot (12.15m), while Monica Howard was 10th in discus (41.19m) and 14th in the shot (11.30m).
For the men, Sean Welsh and Andrew Benford each collected sixth-place finishes in their respective events.
Welsh was sixth in the 1,500m (3:52.26), and Benford was sixth in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:07.64).
Richmond head to Virginia next weekend for the UVa Invitational.
