Spiders Announce 2009 Recruiting Class

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
Women's Soccer head coach Peter Albright, starting his 14th season at the helm of the Richmond Spiders Soccer program, announces the 2009 recruiting class.
"The two words that I would use to describe this class are FAST and FEARLESS," said Albright. "It is no secret that we are expecting great things from this group. It features talented, athletic players at every position, and this is a group of young women who have distinguished themselves by playing soccer, and winning, at a very high level. Expectations are pretty high that many of these players will be able to contribute immediately."
Albright was a six-year starter in goal at the Collegiate School in Richmond, VA. She complied a career record of 105-14-4 in goal for the Cougars. She was a member of the 2007 Richmond Strikers Elite team that was VA State and USYSA Region I Champion and advanced to the National Finals. In 2009, Albright earned First Team All-LIS, First Team All-Met and First Team All State, leading Collegiate to the State Championship game.
Allen is a midfielder who earned All Section in 2006, 2007 and 2008 for her Shady Side Team. As a club player, she was a core player for the IFC Storm where her athletic ability allowed her to excel at several positions.
Archer was a three-year starter at Woodbridge High School where she led her team in scoring in 2009. She was named to the 2009 All League, All District and All Region Teams as she captained her Woodbridge HS team to the regional semifinals. An accomplished track athlete, Archer has a 17'7 long jump to her credit as well as a 26 second 200m. She now competes for the Northern Virginia Majestics.
Baxter played forward for Robinson High School and led her team to the 2008 State Championship game, where she scored the winning goal. In 2009, Baxter earned First Team All League, All District and All Region honors as she led Robinson to the regional semifinals. She now plays for the Northern Virginia Majestics.
Chandler played club soccer for the FC Richmond Club team as a center back/center midfielder. A strong defender, Chandler now plays for the Richmond Kickers Destiny W-League team.
Le Clair is two-time Vermont Gatorade/NSCAA Player of the Year. (2007 & 2008). She led the Hornets in scoring three times, winning State Championships in 2005 and 2007. Natalie was also the VT state 200m and 400m Champion in 2006. Her Nordic Spirit soccer team is the four-time state champions.
Maisano played club soccer for the Cleveland Football Club (OH) and the Soreno Soccer Club (AZ). She earned First Team All Conference and Defensive MVP for three years as she captained the Cayahoga Christian Academy 2006-2008.
Parisi is a central defender who anchored the defense of the PDA Fire 2007 and 2008 USYSA State and Regional Champions and National Finalists. Parisi was a member of the US Soccer U14 National pool, and earned the MVP of the NJ State Cup Competition.
A transfer from Santa Clara University, Wicher was a mainstay at left back for the Richmond Strikers Elite, winner of the 2005 and 2007 State Cups and the 2007 Regional Championship. She is the All time leading scorer at Yorktown High School in Yorktown, VA where she was All League, All Region and All State in 2008.
During First Market Stadium construction, the Spiders will play their home matches at Ukrop Park at Chippenham Parkway and Route 10 in Chesterfield, VA.
