Two Spiders On CAA Silver Anniversary Women's Soccer Team

RICHMOND, Va. -
(August 4, 2009, Colonial Athletic Association)- Former Spider standouts Brook Sands ('00) and Jacyln Raveia ('00) were among the 25 women's soccer players selected to the CAA Silver Anniversary Women's Soccer Team.
As part of its 25th Anniversary celebration in 2009-10, the CAA is recognizing Silver Anniversary teams in 21 championship sports. The teams are selected by a panel of current and former head coaches in the conference.
Members of the CAA Silver Anniversary team for women's soccer are:
Sandra Anger (VCU), Kim Argy (James Madison), Laura Beeman (Old Dominion), Dani Collins (William & Mary), Ann Cook (William & Mary), Jenn Gross (George Mason), Jen Henley (Old Dominion), Corky Julien (James Madison), Stephanie Loehr (William & Mary), Annie Lowry (James Madison), Carrie Moore (William & Mary), Natalie Neaton (William & Mary), Jamie Pagliarulo (George Mason), Jennifer Parsons (VCU), Tammy Pearman (George Mason), Jaclyn Raveia (Richmond), Kelly Renkin (UNC Wilmington), Brooke Sands (Richmond), Lindsey Vanderspiegel (William & Mary), Becky Wachsberger (Hofstra), Katie Watson (Old Dominion), Sue Weber (Hofstra), Ashley Williamson (James Madison), Missy Wycinsky (William & Mary), Claire Zimmeck (William & Mary).
The CAA is known as one of the nation's top women's soccer conferences. Since sponsorship of the sport began in 1993, the CAA has sent multiple teams to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship in 14 of the 16 seasons. William and Mary has captured nine CAA titles and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 15 of those 16 years. James Madison has won a pair of CAA championships and has made nine NCAA appearances over the past 16 seasons. Hofstra is also a two-time CAA champion, while George Mason, Northeastern, Old Dominion and VCU have won the title once. Mason reached the national championship game in 1993.
