Men's Golf In Second Entering Final Round Of Missouri Invitational

VERONA, N.Y. - Senior Robert Lindstrom and freshman Daniel Walker are tied for 11th as the Richmond men's golf team is in second place out of 13 teams at the Missouri Tiger Invitational being played at Turning Stone Resort in upstate New York.
The Spiders finished the day at 606 (301-305) and trail tournament host Missouri (597) by nine shots. Oakland is in third at 609, Hartford is in fourth at 615 and Seton Hall is in fifth at 616. Richmond's Atlantic 10 rival George Washington is in eighth-place at 626.
"The course was playing very tough so scores were high across the board," Richmond head coach Adam Decker said. "We put some good rounds together today, we just need to finish strong tomorrow."
Lindstrom shot a 77 in the morning, but rebounded with a 2-over 74 in the afternoon to finish the day at 7-over 151 on the par-72, 7,100-yard Kaluhyat Course. Walker shot a 2-over 74 in the first round of his collegiate shot and then carded an afternoon 77.
Junior Michael Shrader shot a 77 in the first round and a 76 in the second, to sit at 153. Shrader and Richmond freshman Nick Austin are tied for 13th. Austin, like his classmate Walker, fired a 2-over 74 in his first collegiate round. Austin shot a 79 in the second round. Junior Sam Beach is one shot behind Austin and Shrader, tied for 20th at 154 (76-78).
The third and final round of the Missouri Tiger Invitational will be played on Monday morning.
