Norbo Wins 5,000m On Final Day Of Hokie Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Carter Norbo won the 5,000m Saturday as the Spiders wrapped up competition at the Hokie Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech.
Norbo was clocked at 18:05.37 in winning the 5,000m, followed by teammates Erin Lunny in fourth (18:30.43) and Emma Berry in sixth (18:44.28).
Also for the women, Dana Guglielmo continued her solid meet with an eight-place finish in the 1,000m in a time of 3:00.95, with Beth Kelly taking 10th (3:04.10).
Andi Defonce set an indoor personal record in the 800m with her time of 2:18.35 that was good for 17th place.
Megan Ney was 11th in the long jump (5.49m).
On the men's side, Steve Rachman posted an indoor personal-best in the 400m with his time of 51.95 that was good for 32nd. Garrett Graham was 13th in the 1,000m (2:31.82).
There was no team scoring in the meet.
Richmond returns to action next Saturday at the Patriot Games in Fairfax, Va.
