UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
Each week a player from the Richmond women's soccer team is featured as the Spider Spotlight Player of the Week. This week's Spider is Rachael Creamer. Creamer took some time to answer a few questions about herself and her time at Richmond.
Why did you decide to play soccer at the University of Richmond?
At first, U of R was the best balance of great soccer and academics. After visiting campus and meeting the team, it just felt right.
What is your major? Why?
Right now, I'm undecided but will probably major in a science.
What are your career goals?
Maybe med-school, definitely something that allows me to work with and help others.
Who is your role model? My sisters.
What is a hidden talent?
If you could take a road trip anywhere, where would you go? California! I have never been to the West Coast, and there are million places I'd like to see between here and there.
What has been your most memorable moment at Richmond thus far?
Sitting in the wrong classroom for half an hour before I realized I was in the totally wrong building.
The best thing about being a Spider is?
I can get much more accomplished now with eight legs.
How would your best friend describe you?
Loyal
If I had to sing karaoke, what tune would you belt out?
The latest country hit, only if Layney (#14) was alongside me.
What did you do over the summer?
I traveled to Ghana to teach classes at an orphanage.
What is your favorite part of the game?
I love when a forward sneaks through, and the chase to shut her down. There is no time to think, so it's the easiest time to just let myself play.
Who is the best professor that you have had at UR (so far)?
Professor Myers (Chemistry). Not everyone can compare the periodic table to a football team.
What is your goal as a UR soccer player?
A-10 Champs!
