UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The Richmond women's soccer team plays at Saint Louis Friday at 8 p.m. then travels to Charlotte for a 1 pm contest Sunday.
The Spiders have started their conference slate in thrilling fashion, with three-straight overtime games. Richmond opened A-10 play with a 2-1 win over Saint Joe's, tied Temple 1-1 and lost to rival GW 1-0 last Saturday.
Freshman Becca Wann was named A-10 player of the week for her three-goal performance in the Saint Joe's and Temple games. Wann scored the game-tying and game-winning goal in the win over the Hawks, and scored Richmond's lone tally in the 1-1 Temple tie.
Wann is fourth in the league and tops on the team with seven goals scored. Wann also leads the Spiders in points (14) and shots (45). Wann averages 5.0 shots a game which ranks first in the A-10.
The last meeting between the Billikens and the Spiders resulted in a 2-2 double overtime tie in Saint Louis. Richmond dropped a 4-0 decision to Charlotte last October.
The Spiders currently hold a 1-1-1 record in A-10 play.
