Austin In 10th, Men's Golf In 5th At Georgetown Intercollegiate

BEALLSVILLE, Md. - Sophomore Nick Austin is tied for 10th at 1-under and the Richmond men's golf team is tied for seventh after two rounds at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, played Monday at The Members Club at Four Streams.
The Spiders shot a 5-over 289 in the first round and an even-par 284 in the second round to sit at 5-over 573. Richmond is three shots behind sixth-place Xavier and four shots behind fifth-place UNC-Greensboro entering Tuesday morning's final round.
Austin shot an even-par 71 in the morning round and followed that up with a 1-under-par 70 in the second round to finish the day at 1-under 141 in a tie for 10th, four shots off the lead. In 11 rounds this fall, Austin has shot five rounds below par and only three rounds over par.
Senior Michael Shrader is just one shot behind Austin in a tie for 18th at even-par 142. Shrader shot a 2-under-par 69 in the opening round, his fourth round below par this fall, and his second sub-70 round.
Sophomore Daniel Walker is tied for 27th at 3-over 145. Walker shot a 3-over 74 in the first round and an even-par 71 in the second round. Junior Brad Miller is tied for 32nd at 146, carding a 76 in the first round, but coming back with a 1-under-par 70 in the second round for his fourth round under par of the fall. Senior Sam Beach is tied for 44th at 148 (75-73).
