Each week a player from the Richmond women's soccer team is featured as the Spider Spotlight Player of the Week. This week's Spider is Erin Layne. Layne took some time to answer a few questions about herself and her time at Richmond.
Why did you decide to play soccer at the University of Richmond?
It is a great school academically and soccer wise
What are your career goals?
I would like to do something with science
Who is your role model?
My parents Rita and Barry
If you could take a road trip anywhere, where would you go?
Australia
The best thing about being a Spider is?
Everyone is so nice and all come together as one to support each other!
How would your best friend describe you?
Crazy, funny, outgoing
If I had to sing karaoke, what tune would you belt out?
Something country
What did you do over the summer?
Went to Corolla NC to the beach and worked as a lifeguard
What is your favorite part of the game?
The competition and being part of a team
Who is the best professor that you have had at UR (so far)?
Dr. Galgano
What is the biggest obstacle or challenge that you have had to overcome?
Being injured at the start of preseason this year
What are your fears?
Ironically I'm terrified of spiders
What is your goal as a UR soccer player?
To keep getting better as a player and a teammate
