UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
Each week a player from the Richmond women's soccer team is featured as the Spider Spotlight Player of the Week. This week's Spider is Crystal Koczot. Koczot took some time to answer a few questions about herself and her time at Richmond.
Why did you decide to play soccer at the University of Richmond?
When I visited, the girls on the team seemed very close to each other and that's exactly what I wanted on a team; good chemistry.
What are your career goals?
I want to be able to travel overseas and be involved in some kind of volunteering program for those less fortunate.
Who is your role model?
My father.
If you could take a road trip anywhere, where would you go?
I would go to Thailand because that's where half of my family is from plus they have some of the best beaches in the world.
What has been your most memorable moment at Richmond thus far?
Probably when all the freshmen had to get in the middle of our locker room and sing/dance. Also riding bikes around campus at midnight with Layne and Jensen.
The best thing about being a Spider is?
All the cool Nike gear we get to have that has a spider on it.
How would your best friend describe you?
Outgoing and fun to be around but can be sassy and serious as well.
If I had to sing karaoke, what tune would you belt out?
Dynamite by Taio Cruz
What did you do over the summer?
I traveled to the wild and wonderful West Virginia for regionals with my club team as well as went Ocean City and Bethany beach.
What is the biggest obstacle or challenge that you have had to overcome?
Just the transition from being able to rely on my parents daily to being on my own and away from home.
What are your fears?
I fear not fulfilling my goals in life; not living it to the fullest.
What is your goal as a UR soccer player?
Make a positive impact in the program through my hard work and dedication.
