POWELLS POINT, N.C. - Sophomore Daniel Walker is tied for ninth at 3-under-par 141 as the Richmond men's golf team is tied for third after two rounds of the ODU/Outer Banks Classic.
The third and final round of the 54-hole tournament will be played on Tuesday.
A day after shooting a 10-under-par 278 - the second-lowest team round in school history - Richmond shot a 4-over 292 in tougher conditions Monday. The Spiders are tied with Louisville at 6-under 570, just two shots behind second-place Liberty (568).
Walker followed his 2-under 70 round on Monday with a 1-under 71 in Tuesday's second round. The back-to-back under par rounds gives the 2010 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year four of his eight fall rounds in the red.
Richmond senior Sam Beach and sophomore Nick Austin are tied for 18th at even-par 144. Beach shot a 76 Tuesday after carding a 68 on Monday. Austin shot a 2-over 74 in the second round after a 2-under 70 in the first round.
Senior Michael Shrader is tied for 27th at 1-over 145, following a first round 2-under-par 70 with a 75 on Tuesday. Junior Brad Miller is tied for 34th at 2-over 146 having shot an even-par 72 in the second round after a 2-over 74 in the first round.
The Spiders will be looking to finish in the top-5 for the fourth time in as many tournaments in Tuesday's final round of the fall season.
