UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
After a three-goal weekend in which freshman Becca Wann scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in Richmond's 2-1 thriller overtime victory over Saint Joe's, Wann earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors.
On Friday, Wann knotted the game 1-1 in the 86th minute, then powered home the game-winner with 17 seconds left in overtime as Richmond beat Saint Joseph's, 2-1 in both teams' conference opener.
Wann delivered again Sunday, notching Richmond's tally in a battle-tested double overtime tie, 1-1 with Temple. Wann notched 10 shots over the weekend and leads the Spiders with 45 on the season. Wann only needs 19 shots to crack Richmond's top-5 list for shots in a single season.
Wann tops the team in goals (7), points (14) and shots (45). Wann has also recorded a team-best three game-winning goals.
Richmond wraps up its six game home stand hosting GW as part of a doubleheader with the men's team Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Ukrop Park.
