THE TEAM
Richmond got off to a 5-1 start for the second-straight season with all five victories coming by double-figures. The Spiders are 4-0 in regular-season neutral court games over the last two seasons and 6-2 in neutral court games over the past two seasons.
The Spiders are 7-0 in regular-season tournaments over the past two seasons and will be looking to win it second-straight in-season tournament on Saturday. Richmond won the South Padre Island Invitational last November.
Richmond has scored at least 70 points in six games this season and is averaging 77.2 points per game. The Spiders have shot over 50 percent in all five victories and are shooting 53.8 percent from the field this season.
All nine players that saw action for the Spiders scored.
THE PLAYERS
Senior Kevin Anderson moved into sixth on Richmond's all-time scoring list, scoring 15 points to give him 1,637 for his career. Anderson passed Curtis Blair (1988-92), who had 1,630 career points. Anderson has scored in double-figures 89 times, including five of six games this season and 82 of the last 88 games.
Senior Dan Geriot scored a season-high 18 points to move into 29th on Richmond's all-time scoring list with 1,103 career points. Geriot passed Picot Frazier (1967-70; 1,087) and Rodney Rice (1985-88; 1,097) on the school's all-time scoring list. Geriot scored in double-figures for the 52nd time in his career, including the third time this season.
Sophomore Darien Brothers scored a career-high 16 points for his second-career double-figure scoring game. Brothers made 4-of-4 field goals, including 3-of-3 three-pointers. He has made 13-of-16 (.813) field goals and 7-of-8 (.875) three-pointers in the last three games.
Junior Francis-Cedric Martel grabbed a season-high seven rebounds.
