GREENSBORO, N.C. - Justin Harper scored 17 points and nabbed eight rebounds to lead the Spiders to a 63-53 win over UNC Greensboro on Wednesday afternoon.
Kevin Anderson added 12 points and had four steals, while Dan Geriot chipped in with 11.
Richmond hit 22 of 28 free throws, and scored 22 points off of 18 UNC-Greensboro turnovers.
Richmond's 9-3 start is identical to the team's record after 12 games last season. Only two times since the 1954-55 season and only six times in 99 years of Richmond basketball have the Spiders started better than 9-3.
The Spiders break for Christmas, but reconvene on Christmas Day in Newark, where they face Seton Hall on Dec. 26 at noon.
