Wann Grabs NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Honors

Reigning 2010 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year Becca Wann was recently named to the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic third team.
"Becca had a remarkable first year," said head coach Peter Albright. "She was among the top scorers in the Mid-Atlantic region and one of the best first year player in program history. She is a humble, gracious kid who would die to win a game: she just makes everyone better."
Wann was tabbed Rookie of the Year after leading all Richmond players in shots (70), points (21) and goals (10) following her first season with the Spiders. She tied for second in the A-10 with four game-winning goals and her 70 shots ranks fifth for shots in a single season. Wann was the first student-athlete from Richmond to garner the league's top Rookie honor.
Wann, known for her knack to be around the goal at the right time, often headed in her tallies and recorded a team-best four game-winning scores. Wann earned Player of the week and Rookie of the week honors this season.
Wann, a two-sport athlete at Richmond, is currently playing basketball for the Spiders.
