THE TEAM

Richmond won back-to-back games as a ranked team for the first time in school history. The Spiders, who had been ranked for just 5 weeks in school history before breaking into the Associated Press Top-25 on Monday, were 3-5 as a ranked team entering this season. Richmond had not defeated a ranked team since Dec. 27, 1957 before defeating Fordham on Wednesday night. This is the first time the Spiders have been ranked since January of 1986.

The Spiders have matched the 1985-86 team for the most regular-season wins in school history (22). Richmond has matched the fourth-highest win total in school history. The Spiders finished with 23 wins in 1953-54, 1985-86 and 1997-98 and won a school-record 26 games in 1987-88.

The Spiders matched their highest conference win total since joining the Atlantic 10. Richmond also won 11 games in its inaugural Atlantic 10 season in 2001-02.

Richmond has won 8-straight games for the first time since the 1997-98 season. Richmond is off to its first 8-game conference winning streak since 1990-91.

The Spiders improved to 13-1 at home, the best home start when playing at least 10 games at home in school history. Richmond has matched the 1983-84 and 1955-56 teams for the third-most home wins (13). The 1981-82 and 1954-55 teams each won a school-record 15 home games.

The Spiders had more steals (10, than turnovers (7) for the 11th time this season, including the 3rd-straight game. This was the 9th game this season that the Spiders had double-figure steals , including the 2nd-straight. It was the 7th time this season the Spiders had single-digit turnovers, including the 3rd-straight game.

This was the 4th game this season that the Spiders put 5 players in double-figures in scoring.

THE PLAYERS

Junior Mike Skrocki (1,408) and Kelvin Johnson (1,400) tonight. Anderson had 1 steal to keep him in a tie for 5th on Richmond's all-time steals list with Ryan Butler with 158 steals, one behind David Gonzalvez for 4th.

Senior Ryan Butler scored 17 points for his 32nd-career double-figure scoring game, including his 9th this season. Butler has 801 career points and made a season-high 4 three-pointers, his 13th game with multiple threes this season. Butler had 1 steal to remain in a tie for 5th with Kevin Anderson on Richmond's all-time career steals list with 158.

Junior Kevin Smith scored a season-high 11 points, for his 7th-career double-figure scoring game. Smith also grabbed a career-high 4 steals.

Senior David Gonzalvez had 10 points for his 80th-career double-figure scoring game, including his 21st this season. Gonzalvez has 1,598 points, which ranks 7th on Richmond's all-time career list, just 8 points behind Peter Woolfolk for 6th. Gonzalvez had 1 steal to remain in 4th on Richmond's all-time career steals list with 159, one steal ahead of Ryan Butler and Kevin Anderson.

Junior Justin Harper had 10 points for his 31st-career double-figure scoring game, including his 16th this season. Harper has scored in double-figures in 11 of his last 15 games and also had 8 rebounds, the 8th game this season he has had at least 8 rebounds.
