Dana Guglielmo Named A-10 Outdoor Track Rookie Of The Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - On the heels of an impressive opening weekend by the Spiders outdoor track & field team, freshman Dana Guglielmo was honored as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. She was one of three Spiders that won events Saturday at George Mason.
Guglielmo won the 3,000m and led three Spiders in the event with her personal-best time of 9:52.61. The rookie cruised to the finish line, besting the field by over 10 seconds.
Her time ranks ninth-fastest in the NCAA on the young outdoor season.
Also for Richmond Saturday at Mason, Megan Ney won the long jump and Meaghan McGovern took the hammer throw.
A native of Basking Ridge, N.J., Guglielmo was also honored at the A-10 Indoor Rookie of the Week once during the season.
Richmond is back in action Saturday at the Maryland Invitational.
