Van Alstine Runs 16:38 In 5,000m At Mt. SAC Friday Night

WALNUT, Calif. - Amy Van Alstine placed eighth in 5,000m at Mt. SAC Relays Friday evening, posting a time of 16:38.58 in the prestigious meet in Walnut, Calif. The Spiders also had two competing at Princeton, with the balance of the team running at VCU Saturday.
Van Alstine's time of 16:38 was 17 seconds faster than her previous best time for the outdoor season and was a personal best by more than 15 seconds. She placed eighth in her heat of 44 runners on a crowded track.
Back on the East Coast at the Princeton Invitational, Garrett Graham finished 12th in 3,000m steeplechase (9:16.34) and Erin Lunny placed 24th in 5,000m (17:45.25).
