Former Soccer Spider Standout Wins North American Sailing Championship

Former Spider soccer standout Sarah Chin, `01 (formerly Mergenthaler), a member of the 2010 US Sailing team, recently won the North American Sailing Championship.
Chin won a gold medal at the Rolex Miami Race (leg two of a ISAF World Cup) and is currently in fourth place in the ISAF World Cup standings. Chin finished eighth place and won the 2010 Princess Sofia Trophy in Palma de Majorca, Spain.
After a 15-month hiatus following a 12th place finish at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Chin is training for a run in the 2012 London Games.
Chin (then known as Mergenthaler) was a two-sport athlete at the University of Richmond from 1997-2001. Chin was a member of the women's soccer squad and was a two-time conference champion in javelin throw.
