SOLNA, Sweden -
Every Spider scored in what was a dominant one-sided effort as Richmond rolled past the Solna Vikings, 71-42 Friday evening in Stockholm, Sweden.
What the Spiders lacked in size they more than made up for in quickness. Despite the overwhelming size advantage of the Vikings, Richmond frustrated Solna early and often with its stingy defense and unrelenting pressure.
Richmond led 14-9 after the first quarter and turned up the volume with the first possession of the second frame. The Spiders were unstoppable, completing a 22-10 run to put the once close game out of reach.
The Spiders only continued the dominance with a 22-5 point strike in the third quarter. Twelve Spiders scored, with three of those players reaching double figures. Rachael Bilney led Richmond with 11 points.
Kristina Puthoff-King added 10 apiece.
Up Next: The Spiders board a train for Norway early tomorrow morning and will tour Oslo upon arrival. Richmond returns to action Sunday at 6:30 a.m. ET against Ullren Basket.
