UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - The University of Richmond and Liberty University have announced a scheduling partnership that sets up two men's basketball games in Richmond and a home-and-home series in football over the next four years.
Both basketball games are set for the Robins Center and will be played in December 2012 and as the Spiders' home-opener the following season. The teams have met twice previously, with Richmond winning 66-63 in Lynchburg in 1998, and Liberty taking a 64-61 double-overtime road decision in 1999.
In football, the Flames and Spiders will clash at Robins Stadium in 2013, with the Spiders making a trip to Williams Stadium in Lynchburg the next year. The teams have never met on the gridiron.
The NCAA allows for 12-game FCS schedules in both the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
