Women's Soccer Visits No. 7 Virginia Friday

The Richmond women's soccer team continues road action traveling to seventh-ranked Virginia Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Klockner Stadium.
Some Kind of Wann-derful: A-10 preseason selection Becca Wann leads the Spiders and the league in shots (25) shots per game (6.25) and goals (3). Wann aggressive play has translated into the Spiders leading the league in shots per game (17.75). Wann has notched more shots than three A-10 schools have total.
Spiders Split Saving the Day: Richmond also leads the league in keeps, with 27 on the year, 6. 75 per game. Junior goalkeepers Melissa Pacheco and Andrea Young have been splitting time between the pipes. Pacheco has started all four games, allowing only two goals, while making 13 saves. Pacheco has a 0.73 goals against average while playing a team-best 245 minutes in the net. Young has seen 135 minutes in the net while also registering 13 saves.
Richmond Lately: The Spiders battled Kennesaw State to a 0-0 tie last Friday in the opening game of the Lady Vol Classic. Richmond outshot the Hawks 20-14, with Wann leading the charge at four tries. Richmond fell to host Tennessee Sunday afternoon, 2-1, despite a Wann score three minutes into the game.
Virginia Lately: The Cavaliers played in the Penn State Invitational last weekend playing to a 1-1 draw with Penn State and defeating UConn 1-0 in double overtime on Sunday.
The Cavaliers are the third opponent on the Spiders' schedule to hail from Virginia. Richmond is 1-1 against Commonwealth foes with a loss to JMU and a win over Longwood.
