Women's Soccer Hosts Saint Joseph's In A-10 Opener Friday At Ukrop Park

The Richmond women's soccer team, winner of two of its last three games, opens conference play with Saint Joseph's Friday at 7 p.m. at Ukrop Park.
The Spiders defeated UNC-Wilmington in the final non-conference game of the season on Sept. 19 by a 2-1 score. Richmond's leading scorer, freshman Lindsay Wicher assist. Wicher also scored the game's first goal off a free kick.
Junior goalkeeper Melissa Pacheco was solid in goal in Richmond's victory over UNC-W, recording a game-high eight saves.
Shondel Archer scored the game's only goal in Richmond's 1-0 victory over the Hawks last October. The Spiders lead the all-time series, 5-3-0 and has outscored Saint Joseph's 12-6 in these games.
Wann leads the Spiders with goals scored (4) game-winners (2) and points (8). Wann currently tops the A-10 in shots per game (5.0). Wann's 35 shots ranks fourth in the conference and her two game-winning tallies rank second.
Richmond continues its home stand with Temple Sunday at 10 a.m. at Ukrop Park.
