Changes Coming For Robins Center Concessions/Parking
11/07/2011 | Men's Basketball
During the summer, the University of Richmond's Dining Services conducted a survey and met individually with selected season ticket holders to develop ideas intended to improve its concessions operations at the Robins Center.
As a result, several immediate enhancements will be made for the 2011-12 basketball season. These enhancements will improve the quality of food and overall service of the concessions operations with the goal of providing fans with a better overall game day experience.
"We are committed to providing our fans a great experience at Spider Athletic events," Director of Retail Operations, Blake Widdowson said. "Although we are looking forward to some long term enhancements to Robins Center which will improve our concessions operations, it was necessary to make some changes right away. We are grateful for the University's support in order to put these enhancements in place for the 2011-2012 season."
Ten concourse concession locations will be added which will increase the total points of sale to 23. Food items such as hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, pizza and popcorn, will be available at most of the points of sale locations, rather than just the four previous locations.
In addition, more staff and new equipment will be added to improve food preparation and Dining Services has implemented an ongoing and more rigorous training program for food service workers. QR codes will be also be used to give fans access via smart phones to a UR Heard site for immediate feedback.
The 2011-12 season parking plan includes 300 additional spaces in lot B-6 reserved for Season Ticket Holders who are Spider Club members. The shuttle service for fans will again be available and post-game exiting traffic flow for men's basketball will be similar to football at Robins Stadium. There is no charge for the shuttle or on-campus parking.
Fans can visit RobinsCenter.com for comprehensive game day information including full-color maps for parking, preferred driving directions, a complete listing of the Robins Center's policies and procedures, as well as details on tickets, game day promotions and broadcast coverage of the Spiders.
