UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- All-American Becca Wann was selected to the Virginia Sports Information Director's all-state first team as announced Friday.
Wann was one of three forwards tabbed to the VaSID first team. Wann was selected as the 2010 VaSID Rookie of the Year. The VaSID honor is on the heels of the NSCAA/NCAA Division I All-American accolade Wann received last week. Wann is only the second Spider to garner first-team All-American honors.
Wann was the 2011 A-10 Offensive Player of the Year and an A-10 first team selection. Wann also was crowned the 2010 A-10 Rookie of the Year.
Wann finished her sophomore season second in the conference and 13th in the nation in goals (15), 17th in points (36) and fourth in game-winning tallies (7).
Wann finished second in a single season in both points (36) and goals (15) in Richmond program history.
Wann set a single-season record for game-winning goals (7) and Wann's 10 career game-winners already rank second all-time.
