Spiders End Regular Season At 24-7, 13-3 With Win Over Duquesne

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Justin Harper scored 16 points and 12 rebounds and senior Kevin Anderson also had 16 points as Richmond (24-7, 13-3) defeated Duquesne (18-11, 10-6 Atlantic 10) 68-56.
The Spiders finished the regular season at 24-7 and 13-3 in the Atlantic 10 for the second-straight season. Richmond, which had already clinched a A-10 Tournament bye for the third time in the last four years, is 28-6 in its last 34 Atlantic 10 games.
The Spiders are the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament and will play next Friday at 9 p.m. in the quarterfinals against the winner of an A-10 Tournament first round game Tuesday featuring Saint Louis at Rhode Island.
Richmond won its 50th game over the past two seasons, which is the most wins in a two-year span in school history, and the Spiders won their 70th game in the last three seasons, the most wins in a three-year period.
The Spiders improved to 26-4 in the Robins Center over the last two seasons, including a 12-3 mark this season.
Harper made 6-of-8 field goals and grabbed 12 rebounds as he notched his fifth double-double of the season. Harper finished Atlantic 10 play averaging 20.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in conference play.
Anderson also had 16 points, connecting on 3-of-4 three-pointers and grabbing two steals.
Freshman Cedrick Lindsay scored 11 points and dished out three assists. Junior Francis-Cedric Martel scored nine points, while senior Dan Geriot had six points and four assists. Senior Kevin Anderson had five points and five rebounds. Junior Darrius Garrett scored five points, grabbed a season-high nine rebounds and had two assists.
The Spiders won their 14th-straight game over Duquesne.
