DES MOINES, Iowa - Senior Amy Van Alstine broke the school record in the 5,000m and senior Matt Llano was 18th in the 10,000m on Friday night at the NCAA Track & Field Championship at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
Van Alstine's 14th-place finish should earn the senior All-America honors as the senior was clocked in a time of 16:06.15, which is also good for a new school record.
Llano was 18th in the 10,000m, posting a time of 29:57.21.
The Spiders wrap up the NCAA Championship Saturday when junior Nicol Traynor competes in the finals of the 3,000m steeplechase. The race, which airs on CBS Sports Network live, begins at approximately 12:55 p.m.
